Manager, Sales, Performance Ingredients & Enzymes - Singapore

Objectives of the Position:

Functional leadership of all Performance Ingredients and Enzyme (PI&E) sales reps in Korea, Japan and ANZ
Fully accountable of the Profit & Loss (P&L) for the Performance Ingredients and Enzyme business in Japan, Korea and ANZ; achieve sales and profitability targets (KPI fulfilment)
Assure sales compliance and complying with all sales and management processes in allocated countries and with allocated personal incl. but not only: operational forecasts, market share tracking, financial requirements, and human resource management.
Support and guide allocated resources in decision making to optimize price/margin/volume for assigned portfolio
Contribute to organizational decision making & translate strategic directions in country specific measures.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategy development:

Direct the development of regional go-to-market and account strategies; ensure account plans are fully developed and executed with all internal and external stakeholders
Represent the sub-region (RoA – Korea, Japan and ANZ) in the strategic dialogue with the Global Head of Sales (G-HoS) to develop future strategic options (long-term) and market tactics (mid-term)
Understanding and pro-active reporting of market trends
Focus on implementing regional customer portfolio strategy
Identifying jointly with the sales team potential collaboration partner to enhance positioning of BASF in RoA

 

Sales management:

Optimize sales turnovers, improve profitability, and identify areas of improvement by analysing and benchmarking the regional business internally and externally, steering the business team, assessing new opportunities, establishing key account concepts, and recommending exiting from unprofitable businesses
Directs the development and maintenance of operational forecasts regarding volumes, market share, financial requirements and human resources needs and monitor projected effects
New Business Development and opportunity pipeline management short- to long-term
Steer local market fix costs
Analyse, decide, and implement best channels to market in agreement with G-HoS achieve market share and penetration targets.
Assure Sales Management tools (SalesForce, PowerBI, MS Teams) are fully employed and utilized by the team and enhance further sales operation speed by continuously driving the implementation of efficiency and digitalization
Pro-actively and regularly exchange with the adjunct Vitamin and Carotenoid (V&C) Team for Animal Nutrition (peers, Regional HoS) to exchange market trends, identify new customers and opportunities and support shared customers at best

 

Customer Management:

Strengthen and cultivate high level relationships with key existing and potential customers/ distributors
 Key contact for problem escalation and resolution with customers and internal stakeholders
Manage local Distribution Management via best practice and in line with BASF compliance
Pro-actively seek the strategic dialogue with customers to position BASF as partner and differentiate from other suppliers 
Collaborate and jointly with the V&C serve customers at best in in the interest of BASF Animal Nutrition

 

Annual Business Planning:

Direct and realize the annual operational (budgeting) & middle-&-long term strategic planning of the local business by setting sales volume, selling price and profitability targets through negotiation, and coordinating the relevant business activities with supply and sales organizations.

 

Leadership:

Leading a team of sales professionals and coordinate with the technical service support needed
Supporting the Regional HoS V&C in selecting, hiring, developing & retaining people
Exchange with the Regional HoS V&C to enable quality people development, motivating, coaching, performance management
Drive jointly with the Regional HoS V&C a continuous pursuit of sales excellence within a high-performance, cross-functional team
Make: “We don’t compromise on safety and compliance” along with the “CORE” values of BASF the guiding principle in the team
Support the Regional HoS that team spirit and collaboration within the team but also within the Animal Nutrition community is established
 Lead-by-example to live pro-active and open collaboration with the adjunct V&C team Animal Nutrition and organize regular dialogues

 

Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and/or Animal Nutrition with related studies.
Minimum 6 years of experience in Marketing and Sales with broad knowledge in business operations.
Proven ability to live collaboration, entrepreneurial and team spirit
Ability to effectively prioritize in a multitask environment
Proficient in digital tools for effective collaboration (e.g. MS Teams, Sales Force)
Proven ability to apply customer interaction and Sales Management tools as Medaillia, Power BI, Sales Force
Good presentation and communication skills
Strong leadership competencies in leading direct & virtual employees to success, and in developing talents
