Sea6 Energy, a Bangalore, India based company that is leveraging natural seaweed to produce feed and agricultural fertilizer, says it has seen a notable increase in demand for its seaweed-based feed products this year compared to 2022, and is now looking to associate with large B2B players.
This is due to an overcoming of initial scepticism and demonstrated health benefits of low-dosage seaweed-based formulations in India and abroad at partner and poultry and shrimp farmer level, said Hemanth Giri Rao, General Manager (R&D Biopolymers & Food Ingredients) at Sea6 Energy Pvt. Ltd.
Currently, Sea6 Energy current poultry and shrimp seaweed-based feed production capacity ranges from 10–25 tonnes/year. It is scalable as needed. Mr. Rao said that the production process is economically viable at the present market prices.
