Sebastian Marten has revealed he will be joining the Executive Committee of Adisseo as of July 1, 2023 in the role of Executive Director of the Specialty Strategic Business Unit. Marten has most recently served as DSM’s Vice President Business Transformation, Health, Nutrition & Biosciences.

Barentz, a global distributor of life science and specialty ingredients based in the US, has welcomed John DeVos as President of the North American Animal Nutrition Division. John joins Barentz from a career in the Animal Nutrition and Food Service Industries serving most recently as the Vice President of Global Sales for Ralco Nutrition. Jerry Vergeer, who previously served as the President of the Animal Nutrition Division in North America will transition to a global advisory role.

US-based animal nutrition firm BioZyme® Inc. has taken on Kathrin Rieser, M.Sc. as the new Global Marketing Manager Feed Additives. Rieser has previously worked as a product manager in the feed additives industry and a stud book and event manager for a German Horse Breeding Association.

Darling Ingredients Inc. has announced changes to its executive management team, with Matt Jansen named as Chief Operating Officer, North America. His prior roles include Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Arabia Agriculture and Livestock Investment Company and Chief Executive Officer of COFCO International, the overseas agriculture business platform for China’s COFCO Corporation, as well as a number of executive roles at ADM. Meanwhile, Rick Elrod, Executive Vice President, U.S. Rendering Operations, has informed the company of his intention to retire in April 2024, after 30 years of service. Brandon Lairmore, currently Senior Vice President, North Central Region, will succeed Elrod. Lairmore joined Darling Ingredients in 2016 after nearly 20 years in the agriculture and meat processing industry.

DSM-Firmenich has announced that the existing Co-CEO structure, with each CEO holding additional CFO and COO responsibilities respectively, will be changed effective as of 1 September 2023 with Dimitri de Vreeze as to continue as CEO and Ralf Schmeitz appointed as CFO of DSM-Firmenich. Geraldine Matchett, previously Co-CEO at DSM alongside de Vreeze and instrumental to the merger with Firmenich, has decided to further her career elsewhere.

Rainer Lehmann will join Denmark’s Novozymes as CFO and EVP, taking up the position no later than November 1, 2023. Lars Green has decided to leave the company for personal reasons, effective no later than the end of 2023.

Seaweed-based feed additives company Ocean Harvest Technology has named Andy Cox as interim CFO after current Chief Financial Officer Adrian Crockett announced his intention to leave the company on June 9 to pursue other opportunities. Cox has been appointed in a non-board capacity for nine months, during which it will conduct a search for a permanent replacement.

Eddy Ketels will step down as CEO of Dutch feed additives company Orffa at the end of 2023, after 35 years in the company and 22 as CEO. He will be succeeded by Haiko Zuidhoff, who will start in his new role as of 1 October 2023. Zuidhoff most recently served IMCD as President for the Asia region, prior to which he served in various senior leadership roles at Trouw Nutrition Nutreco and Corbion.
