Recent moves (in alphabetical order of company) include:


AB Agri has recruited business development specialist Graham Wong to head up operations in South East Asia as part of plans to significantly increase its market share in the region. Wong, whose new remit as Head of South East Asia includes recruitment, technical development and innovation, joins the business having spent more than a decade in the animal nutrition sector, most recently as Managing Director, South East Asia in Nuscience of the Royal Agrifirm Group. Wong’s appointment follows that of Visiel Tolentino, who joined the company as Head of Strategic Marketing for Asia last year. AB Agri plans to recruit for more roles in the region in the coming months including technical support and commercial colleagues who will work alongside well-established local teams from its animal nutrition divisions AB Vista, AB Neo, Premier Nutrition, and new alternative protein specialist, Livalta.


Amlan International enhanced their support base for Brazilian poultry and livestock producers with the appointment of Eduardo Euclides Baggio as Technical Manager. Eduardo brings extensive experience in broiler husbandry, dark house technology and zootechnical indicator analysis at all points of the production chain, from layers to slaughter. He previously worked for multinational animal protein production companies for more than 13 years in areas such as rural extension, poultry health, expansion, environment coordination and agricultural management. Eduardo earned a veterinary medicine degree from the University of Passo Fundo and a post-graduate degree in financial management from the University of Caxias do Sul.

 

Anpario is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Lawrence Brown as senior technical and account manager for aquaculture. Dr Brown is an experienced animal health professional who, since qualifying as a veterinary surgeon graduating from the University of Edinburgh’s veterinary college, has worked in mixed practice and industry across the UK, Middle East and Australia. Over the last five and a half years, Dr Brown has worked with several private and public sector organisations including the Department for International Trade as the ‘Animal Sciences and Aquaculture Specialist’, supporting major aquaculture producers to expand their operations in the UK, and helping local aquaculture businesses to export their goods worldwide. In 2020, Dr Brown accepted a scholarship and completed an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, graduating with Distinction. In addition, Dr Brown is an invited member of KTN’s Animal Sciences Advisory Board and Life Sciences, as well as Scotland’s Industry Leadership Group for Aquaculture, Animal Health and Agritech.


Thomas Schäfer Executive Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer, and member of the Executive Board stepped down as EVP and CSO of Chr. Hansen Holding A/S effective March 31, 2022. Thomas Schäfer has been with the company since November 2017. Thomas will continue as Chief Science Advisor to CEO Mauricio Graber, as well as continue as member of the Board of Directors in Bacthera AG (Chr. Hansen’s Joint Venture with Lonza AG) and the BioInnovation institute as Chr. Hansen’s representative. As of April 1, 2022, Henrik Joerck Nielsen, currently Senior Vice President Animal Health, will be promoted to Chief Scientific Officer. Henrik has a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark and National Institute of Health in Maryland. He did his post-doctoral research fellow at the National Cancer Institute in the US (2006-2008). After being with McKinsey six years, he joined Chr. Hansen in 2014.


Community Blenders LLC (CBL) welcomes Mike Wright as the company's new Chief Operating Officer. Wright will oversee CBL business operations and help guide the implementation of company strategy and vision. Wright joins CBL with more than 25 years of feed industry experience. Prior to joining CBL, Wright served as Director of Operations & Business Development for D&D Ingredient Distributors, Inc. in Delphos, Ohio where he was responsible for sales, marketing, quality, and helping company leadership define and implement new operational polices and guidelines for continued business growth. Previously, Wright directed research and marketing at Diamond V in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As Director of Global Marketing, he was responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategic marketing plan for the U.S. and international businesses. He also has worked for ADM Animal Health & Nutrition, MoorMan’s Inc., Manna Pro Corporation, and Countrymark Cooperative, Inc.Wright received his animal science degrees (B.S. and M.S.) and MBA from The Ohio State University.


Natural Biologics announces the addition of Carl Jones to the sales team as Poultry Business Development Manager. Jones will serve poultry and companion animal customers across the country, working with both nutritionists and feed companies, as well as directly with producers. Jones spent the first 20 years of his career working as production facility manager in both the swine and poultry industries and the last ten years in various roles in animal nutrition. He holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University and will be based out of his home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.


NUQO Feed Additives Thailand announced the appointment of Bundit Thoaphan as sales manager for Thailand. Bundit obtained his bachelor of science, with major in animal science, from Silpakorn University, Thailand. For more than 10 years, Bundit worked in the business of animal nutrition with commercial and technical roles. Bundit will join the team of NUQO© in Thailand, contributing to the commercial development for the whole portfolio and helping our sales team and our customers to select and apply the best products to improve health and performance of farm animals.


Trouw Nutrition, Nutreco's livestock feed business line, is announcing new responsibilities within its Innovation Team. Effective since 15 March 2022, Coen Smits has accepted the role of Director of Sustainability for the livestock feed business line, and John Doelman has become livestock feed Global R&D Director. Coen brings 24 years of experience in various R&D roles to his new position. He joined Nutreco as a poultry researcher in 1997 and has served in various R&D management positions in swine, food and ingredients research.
