Ag Processing Inc a cooperative (AGP) announced that J. Keith Spackler, Chief Executive Officer, has informed the Board of Directors of his intention to retire after conclusion of the current fiscal year on August 31, 2021. Spackler will continue in his role as CEO until a successor is named and the transition in leadership is complete.Spackler’s career spans over 40 years in agribusiness. After working in commodities and economic analysis, he joined AGP in May 1985. With responsibilities in business analysis, strategic planning, and finance, Spackler was promoted to roles of expanded responsibility throughout his career. He served from 2001-2012 as AGP’s Chief Financial Officer and was named Chief Executive Officer in September 2012. He remains active at the board level with various cooperative-related associations.
Anitox announced that Dr. Enrique Montiel joined the company as Director of Nutrition and Live Production on March 1. Dr. Montiel is a veterinarian who has worked in the poultry and animal health sector for the past 25 years. Most recently he served as Director of Global Avian Veterinary Services for Merial, then as Senior Veterinarian for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health. Dr. Montiel holds a Master of Science focused in Avian pathology and immunology, and a Ph.D. in Poultry Science from University of Georgia, where he studied the influence of feeding program on immune responses in broiler breeders.
Anpario has announced the appointment of Ian (John) Hamilton as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 April 2021. Ian has senior-executive and non-executive experience in the animal genetics and specialty feed additive industries. As a member of the founding management team of Aviagen, he played a pivotal role in building the business through organic and acquisition growth to become the world's largest poultry breeding business. Ian has supported several blue-chip investment houses targeting the Agribusiness and Agtech sector. In addition, he was a consultant to Anitox Ltd, a formaldehyde pathogen control business for raw material and animal feed hygiene applications. Ian is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Horizon Proteins Ltd, which provides sustainable proteins for aquaculture recycled from the whiskey-making process, and Biotangents Ltd, a veterinary diagnostics business.
Aviagen Asia has appointed Peter Fisher as its new President, effective from April 1. In this role, he will provide leadership for the Asia region, while continuing to enhance service to poultry producers. Fisher earned a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and PhD in Agriculture from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, where he also acted as manager of the Pig Research Unit and Part-Time Lecturer.
Cargill has appointed Jamie Miller as CFO. Miller was senior vice president and CFO at General Electric from November 2017 to February 2020. She joined GE in 2008, holding various leadership positions, including serving as president and Chief Executive Officer of GE Transportation. Miller will succeed David Dines, who has held the CFO role since Dec. 1, 2018. Miller will join Cargill on June 1 and will serve on the company's executive team. She also serves on the board of directors at Qualcomm Inc.
Cermaq appointed Lars Galtung as Global Director of Communication and Sustainability. Lars comes from the position as communications director in IF insurance company and was until 2020 Executive Vice President for communication and sustainability in TINE. Lars has a versatile experience and started his career as a journalist. He holds a master's degree in economics from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and has an officer education from the Norwegian Army’s War School. He starts in Cermaq on 1 June.
CCPA Group appointed Olivier Poli as General Manager. Olivier Poli, 51, assumed his new duties on 1 April 2021. Poli has 23 years’ experience at the Roullier Group. For 12 years, he ran TIMAB Phosphates (which became Phosphea in 2016). In 2009, Poli was also General Manager of the Animal Products Division at Axereal.
Enterra welcomed Dave Lemmon as CEO. Mr. Lemmon brings over 25 years of experience in the CPG industry – most recently as the former President of Pet Food & Pet Snacks at The J.M. Smucker Company. During his time with The J.M. Smucker Company, Mr. Lemmon led the company in the Canadian, U.S., and international markets across a spectrum of iconic CPG brands.
