Recent moves (in alphabetical order of company) include:

The Supervisory Board of BASF SE today appointed Dr. Melanie Maas-Brunner (52) as a member of the Board of Executive Directors effective February 1, 2021. Maas-Brunner has been with BASF since 1997 and has headed BASF’s Nutrition & Health division since 2017. In her new role as of February 1, 2021, she will also take over the position as Chief Technology Officer from Dr. Martin Brudermüller, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF. She will assume responsibility for the three research divisions Advanced Materials & Systems Research, Bioscience Research, Process Research & Chemical Engineering as well as BASF New Business at that time.

Wayne T. Smith (60) is leaving the Board as of May 31, 2021. Smith has been with BASF for 16 years and has been a member of the Board since 2012. He is currently responsible for the divisions Monomers, Performance Materials, Petrochemicals, Intermediates, Process Research & Chemical Engineering and North America. Michael Heinz (56) will take over Smith’s responsibilities in North America after a transition period on June 1, 2021 and retain his responsibilities for South America. Maas-Brunner will additionally take over the tasks in the divisions European Site & Verbund Management, Global Engineering Services and Corporate Environmental Protection, Health & Safety as well as the role of the Industrial Relations Director from Heinz on the same date.

Elanco welcomes three Directors, Bill Doyle, Scott Ferguson and Paul Herendeen to the Board. The new members bring significant leadership and expertise across animal health and pharmaceutical innovation, financial discipline, operational excellence, capital allocation, along with an investor perspective.

Hamlet Protein announced a sales team expansion. Chelcee Hindman and Lamar Rider are joining the Findlay (Ohio) headquartered North America organization. Lamar Rider graduated from the University of Alabama and has an extensive track record in the animal health and nutrition industry. Chelcee Hindman grew up on a farm in central Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University. She worked with several of the leading companies in the feed industry.

Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, North America announced Cody Swan has been recently tapped to lead the U.S. Cattle and Equine Sales Division. Cody joined Kemin as a Product Manager in 2008 and later, he transitioned to Key Account Manager, National Accounts Manager and most recently Equine Division Leader.

Trouw Nutrition welcomes Dr. Silke Birlenbach as Director of Global Innovation, effective January 4th, 2021. She succeeds in this role to Saskia Korink, Trouw Nutrition CEO and joins Trouw Nutrition Leadership Team, based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Silke holds degrees in cell biology and veterinary physiology from Harvard University & Kansas State University, respectively, and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Justus-Liebig University. She brings with her a wealth of experience from the Animal Health and Pharma industries as well as consulting with McKinsey & Co. Having worked internationally, Silke has built a track record in transforming & growing businesses and driving strategic marketing & innovation.
