Recent moves (in alphabetical order of company) include:

ADM Animal Nutrition appoints Ruben Beltran as Vice President North America for the Feed Additives and Ingredients business unit, effective Monday, September 6, 2021. In this role, Beltran will oversee all sales and commercial operations for the Additive & Ingredients unit in the United States and Canada. Beltran has a long experience in sales of specialty additives, having worked for Biomin before joining ADM in 2016 as Product Manager/Key Account Manager. He holds a Master of Science in Poultry Science & Veterinary pathobiology from Texas A&M University.

Alltech Ireland announced new hires for its pig and poultry teams: Dr. Hazel Rooney has been appointed as technical pig coordinator and Paula Mc Cooey as poultry manager. They join Alltech with valuable education and experience in their respective species and will work closely with the sales, marketing and research teams.
Prior to joining Alltech, Hazel received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2016 and a Ph.D. in swine nutrition from UCD and the Teagasc Pig Development Department in 2019. Her doctoral research focussed on maternal feeding strategies during gestation and lactation to optimise annual sow output and promote the growth and development of progeny from large litters. She then spent a year working as a post-doctoral researcher in the Teagasc Pig Development Department in Ireland.
Paula received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture science from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2014. She then moved to England to work for Moy Park and spent two years learning about the business from the hatchery to the processing plant before becoming a broiler field advisor and was responsible for 36 farms across Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire. She continued to work for Moy Park in Northern Ireland as a farm compliance manager before moving to Western Brand in 2019. Here, she was responsible for driving performance and ensuring compliance on 75 broiler farms across Cavan, Monaghan and Mayo.


GMP+ International welcomes Bram Schuit as new Commercial Director. Bram Schuit joined GMP+ International in the new role of Commercial Director starting the 1st of September 2021. He joins Roland van der Post to complete the new management. Schuit joins GMP+ International from Kiwa where he served as International Business Development Manager. Schuit’s extensive experience has developed in diverse international marketing and commercial roles for organisations especially in the testing, inspection, and certification industry. He primarily garnered his experience in agri-commodities and in the food & feed business.

Hamlet Protein recently made a few appointments: Jessika van Leeuwen PhD MSc joins the company as Category Manager Swine. Jessika van Leeuwen, Dutch citizen, graduated from Wageningen University (NL). After further studies at the University of Florida (US) and University de la Plata (ARG), she completed a PhD on Reproductive Physiology at Wageningen University. Jessika has held senior position at industry leading companies in animal feed and feed additives. The company also welcomed Henrik Pedersen as Plant Manager in Horsens. Nicolas Anglade joined the ruminants team as Category Manager Ruminants.

Lonza announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Philippe Deecke as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Lonza Group. The appointment will be effective from 1 December 2021. Philippe will succeed Rodolfo J. Savitzky as a member of the Lonza Executive Committee. He joins Lonza Group from Novartis, where he has held a succession of senior finance positions. Philippe holds an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School (US), a Master’s Degree in Industrial Management and Manufacturing from ETH Zurich (CH) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from ETH Zurich (CH).

Natural Biologics welcome Denny Sells as the new Mid-Atlantic Regional Sales Manager serving ruminant and monogastric customers in the Mid-Atlantic states of the U.S. In this newly created position, Sells will cover a swath of the Eastern U.S. where he has worked with farms, nutritionists, and feed mills over the last twenty years. Sells has spent the last five years as the dairy nutrition manager for H.J. Baker and Bros. Prior to that, he was with the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. Sells holds a B.S. in Animal Science from North Carolina State University. He will be based out of his home in Monroe, Tennessee.

Veramaris hires new marketing director. Anthony Lin will take the role of Global Marketing and Communications Director from 1st September 2021 and will lead the development and execution of the Veramaris marketing strategy. Lin joins Veramaris from Upfield Professional where he was Global Category Lead for the Cream & Cheese categories. Lin is the third hire for Veramaris this year, preceded by Victoria Parr in March and Johan Brouwer in July, who joined the company as Global Business Development Directors.

Christi Brown joins Zinpro Corporation as new business development director. As new business development director, Brown will lead the development and launch of new product offerings for ruminant nutrition. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado State University and extensive leadership training, Brown has 20 years of agricultural sales experience developing customer relationships and a track record of developing world-class teams.
