CARBOGEN AMCIS has announced that Pascal Villemagne has been named Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April. Villemagne, who has served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CARBOGEN AMCIS for the past 11 years, replaced Mark Griffiths who announced his decision to retire. Before joining CARBOGEN AMCIS, Villemagne has had several experiences in the life science industry, amassed while serving in a variety of commercial leadership roles such as Vice President, Contract Manufacturing, at Farmhispania, an API contract manufacturing company based in Spain, Sales and Business Development Manager at Inabata and at Cambrex, as well as Raw Material Purchasing Manager at Sanofi-Aventis.
13 women and men forming DLG's Board of Directors for the next two years were elected. Niels Dengsø Jensen was re-elected as Chairman of the Board, while Carl Christian Lei was re-elected as vice Chairman. Lars-Ole Hjorth-Larsen from Bornholm joined as a new member of the Board of Directors on behalf of the farmer owners, while Niels Olesen from East Jutland resigned. Carsten Hänel, CEO of Orkla Danmark A/S, is a newly elected external member of DLG's Board of Directors. He has been working in the food and beverage industry for more than 30 years and has been CEO of, among others, KiM’s A/S and Carlsberg Danmark A/S, and since 2018 he has been the CEO of Orkla Denmark. John Kristensen and Kim Svendsen are new employee-elected members. They take over the board positions from John Smidt Christiansen and Mads Peter Madsen, who had both decided not to stand for re-election.
ForFarmers will appoint Chris Deen as CEO starting 1 July 2022. He replaces Yoram Knoop who is stepping down after an AGM today. Roeland Tjebbes will temporarily take on the CEO role next to his CFO responsibilities. Chris Deen (55) is currently CEO of Aviko, a leading potato processor and subsidiary of cooperative Royal Cosun. He started in this position at the beginning of 2020. He started his career in 1991 as accountant at EY. He moved to Sara Lee/Douwe Egberts in 1996, where he held various positions until 2010. These included CFO of Douwe Egberts Coffee Systems in the Netherlands and General Manager of Sara Lee International Foodservice Iberia (Barcelona, Spain). Subsequently, Chris Deen joined Bakkersland, at the time the largest bakery producer in the Netherlands, where he was CFO and CEO between 2012 and 2016. Prior to joining Aviko, he was COO and Integration Director at Euroma (products based on herbs and spices).
Hendrix Genetics announced the appointment of Antoon van den Berg as Chief Executive Officer. He will succeed Jolanda van Haarlem who has decided to leave Hendrix Genetics. Antoon van den Berg will step down from the Supervisory Board. The company also announced that Wout Dekker will join its Supervisory Board of Hendrix Genetics. Wout Dekker brings to the Supervisory Board many years of experience not only in the agri-food sector but also in supervisory boards of international companies. From 2000 to 2012 he was the CEO of Nutreco. As CEO of Nutreco, he was involved in the divestment of Euribrid to Hendrix Genetics. After he stepped down as CEO of Nutreco, he has been involved in several Supervisory Boards in the profit and non-profit sector, including Rabobank, FrieslandCampina and Princes Maxima center for child oncology. Currently Wout is member of supervisory board of SHV Holdings NV, Pon Holdings NV, and Randstad NV.
Michael Sigsfors, former Director Group Controlling, has assumed his new position as CFO of Lantmännen. Michael is succeeding Christian Johansson, who decided to leave Lantmännen. The change came into effect on 11 April. In connection with Michael Sigsfors assuming the role of CFO, he also takes place as part of Lantmännen’s group management team. Sigsfors has worked within Lantmännen since 2008, among other things as CFO and Director Business Development & B2B at Lantmännen Cerealia, and since 2017 as Director Group Controlling at Lantmännen’s Finance & Treasury function. Michael also has previous experience from Kraft Foods and Henkel, among others.
Symbrosia, a Hawai'i-based cleantech startup that uses seaweed to tackle livestock methane emissions, announced the appointment of Avery Kramer as Chief Operating Officer. Kramer brings 15+ years of international experience in the algae industry, working on projects in North America, Europe, Africa, and Hawai'i. In 2007, he became the first employee at Cellana, a Royal Dutch Shell joint venture focused on production of novel biofuel feedstocks from microalgae. In that role he facilitated the construction of an algae pilot facility and led workflows in operations, quality assurance, and business development. He later consulted for a number of early-stage carbon reduction companies to streamline operations as they moved toward commercialisation.
TechMix Europe announced the addition of Nikolaus (Niko) Brunner, DVM, to the international team in the role of ruminant health business manager. Dr. Brunner will be responsible for business efforts in central Europe including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark and the Benelux region. Additionally, Dr. Brunner will be part of the TechMix Dairy Technical & Innovation team to support European and global business expansion efforts.
Cidinei Miotto has joined the commercial team of Vaccinar in the role of National Business Director for the Additives Line and Poultry Line in the Southern Territory (states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul). He will also be responsible for developing the foreign markets for these lines. With more than 27 years of experience in the Animal Nutrition segment, Cidinei has extensive experience in the development of international markets.
