HiProMine, a Poland-based manufacturer of insect feeds, told Expana at last week’s EuroTier trade show in Germany that it has commenced production operations at its plant in Karkoszów, near Gorzów in western Poland. The facility was constructed in approximately 10 months and officially opened in June 2024.
Prof. Damian Józefiak, board member at HiProMine said that the plant is now ramping up and will aim for a production capacity of 60,000 tonnes/year in 2025. It will produce various types of insect-based products including meals, fats and fertilizers.
According to Józefiak, the Karkoszów plant is located in a convenient place to supply all of Europe. Situated an hour’s drive away from HiProMine’s genetics centre and only 120km from Berlin airport.
Founded in 2015, HiProMine specialises in insect-based raw materials production for livestock and companion animals. HiProMine offers insect meal (dry form), insect pulp (fresh meat), and insect dried larvae, produced from Black Soldier flies. The company is based in Robakowo, near Poznan.
