DSM has resumed vitamin A production at its site in Sisseln, Switzerland.
The company temporarily halted vitamin A production in Sisseln in November 2022 due to the challenging cost environment.
"Restarting production will allow DSM to serve its loyal customers with animal nutrition premix solutions ahead of the shutdown for lifetime extension work planned for the vitamin A line this summer," DSM said. "The ongoing geopolitical and economic turbulence highlights the importance of maintaining resilient vitamin supply which plays a critical role in food security."
According to Feedinfo's Supply & Demand Database, the Sisseln plant has nameplate capacities of 5,600 tonnes/year for vitamin A 1000 and 18,000 tonnes/year for vitamin E oil used to manufacture vitamin E 50%.
