De Heus Acquires Coppens' Animal Feed Plant in Helmond

21 July 2021 - Royal De Heus has reached an agreement to acquire animal feed plant Coppens Diervoeding in Helmond, the Netherlands, for an undisclosed amount.

The animal feed plant which has an annual capacity of around 400,000 tonnes is an important local supplier for pig and broiler production.

De Heus expects the acquisition to increase both the capacity and flexibility of its production in the Netherlands, while supporting further growth.

The deal is awaiting approval from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM).

"De Heus and Coppens share a long history in serving the livestock farming sector with high-quality feeds. Both companies are deeply rooted in the Dutch livestock farming sector," Hendrik de Vor, Managing Director of Coppens, said on the deal.

The latest addition to De Heus's portfolio in the Netherlands takes its total animal feed plants in the country to 10.
