13 April 2022 - Qingdao Shengda Commercial & Trade Co., Ltd., the export and sales company of leading Chinese corn starch processing group Zhucheng Xingmao Corn Developing Co., Ltd. (Xingmao Group), has announced that Xingmao Group has started producing l-lactic acid at its Jingliang Longjiang Biotechnology Engineering Co.,Ltd. factory located in Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province.
A Qingdao Shengda spokesperson told Feedinfo that the lactic acid production facility has been operational since February and has already reached a production capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year. The lactic acid produced is 80-100% purity and comes in feed-grade, food-grade, refined food-grade, as well as polymer-grade forms.
The company wishes to sell the new lactic acid products in China as well as in international markets such as Russia, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, Taiwan, India, and more, the spokesperson added.
Jingliang Longjiang Bioengineering is a joint venture between Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group and Xingmao Group. In 2021, the company invested 500 million yuan in the l-lactic acid project, using starch as a raw material.
